No matter your religious beliefs or individual circumstances, we are here to provide a complete funeral arrangement service for your peace of mind. From the flowers to announcements, our team take care of your needs. Based in Oakhill, Somerset, and serving clients within a 35-mile radius, our team are compassionate, knowledgeable, and happy to assist.
A variety of funeral arrangements and plans are available from Nicholas J Maggs Funeral Services. Coffins are delivered to a church or chapel the day before the service, or we can deliver them an hour before to meet your needs. If you wish, we provide a hearse that leaves from the family home, and limousines are available to follow. We understand that following the hearse may be upsetting, so meeting at the place of service may be suitable.
Once the religious service is complete, the deceased may be taken to a churchyard or cemetery for burial. If you request a cremation, we travel to a crematorium of your choice. There are a number of ways that cremated remains can be laid to rest. You could place them in the crematorium garden with other family members, scatter them privately, or inter them in a churchyard or cemetery.
A death in the family is an emotional time, and we are here to help at every step. Once a death occurs, a family member needs to notify us by telephone to instruct us of their wishes. If the death occurs at home, in a community hospital, hospice, or nursing home, it must be pronounced before we bring them into our care. If the death is sudden or unexpected, the doctor should report it to a coroner. This may result in a post-mortem examination and a possible inquest. Should this happen, we are here to advise you at every stage.
Our location has full mortuary facilities, including a dedicated chapel of rest. A restroom is also available for those of a non-religious belief. Families visit us via appointment to make funeral arrangements, yet we often find that they feel comfortable in their own homes. In a familiar environment, it may not be as stressful, so we visit homes across the area to provide a tailored solution.
We have a selection of coffins and ashes caskets, and we arrange and advise on the following services:
Some families may want their flowers to remain at the crematorium. Others may wish to collect and return them to a cemetery or churchyard, or a specific location. We always respect your wishes, and we are happy to discuss your requirements.
